Research Background

In our surrounding, a lot of plastic molding is used. For example, car bumper, motorcycle body part, sports goods, electronics and information devices have been used. In our laboratory, we focus on a variety of plastic molding and more complicated. We are conducting the research for the production of plastic products with the high-value-added and high-quality. Especially, we interest in the research on ultra-precision moldings such as ultra-thin-wall molding, molding of micro- and nano-surface structure, and the extremely small molding. The top-down processing approach from the conventional plastic molding techniques, self-assembly, crystallization and its molecular orientation of the polymer materials. The fusion of bottom-up processing approach that focuses on a variety of processing characteristics due to composite, the structure formation, and new properties are clarified. Also, we have conducted research on the devices of the polymer formed and fabricated material.

The example of high-value-added materials and foundation of plastic products, such as micro-chip, micro-gear, optical disc, and the optical film. Moreover, the plastic with high thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, plastics for controlling the light, even such high-strength plastic have been developed by our laboratory.

3. Development of plastic formation and fabrication in the in the field of environment and energy, information communication, electronic materials and medical devices.

From the purpose, we study the applied research based on fundamental research.
